Fishing Wednesday July 12, 2017 out on the Curl, (Jeffrey's Ledge) fishing was slow, one keeper haddock 17", two dog fish a few small haddock, one 28" cod and ready to move to try another spot. The motor wouldn't start. It was a new starter last August but already it quit. I had to call the US Coastguard. I was done fishing for the day, packed up my gear and waited, NOAA arrived first and took me aboard until the coastguard showed up. It was a long day but I did video the cod fish.

Sunday May 21st 2017 the water will be FLAT. It will be a GREAT day to catch some haddock. WOW ! a great day at sea. We ended up with 32 keeper haddock, lots of big ones.
Whales were surfacing often, we caught some nice cod (released them), a big wolf fish, and I'm pretty sure it was a halibut that I lost.

I left Hampton harbor at 5 AM Monday morning July 25th 2016. I was fishing at about 6:20, My first fish was a 24 inch haddock, I was catching haddock and cod all day. Not one dog fish, one small Pollock. Ended up with 9 keeper haddock. It was a great day on the water.

Wednesday July 6, 2016 I headed out from Hampton Harbor again. The sun was already steaming, I set my GPS for a favorite spot out at Jeffrey's ledge and started out. There were at least 10 boats north of me on the way out, looked like they were waiting for tuna. I arrived at my spot and dropped a line. I was catching dog fish, moving around to different spots the dog fish were everywhere, I did catch one legal haddock also caught some nice cod. Getting about time to leave I caught a nice 24 inch Pollock. I tried for more but again more dog fish. 3:30 PM had to leave.

My friend and I went out to Jeffrey's on June 24th 2016 for haddock, it was a challenge to get our line down to the bottom. My friend caught a big Monkfish, I caught a Wolffish and we were catching Cod , Pollock, and haddock, & Cusk. We had 5 haddock and one Pollock keepers. We released a lot of small haddock, cod and the Wolffish and Monkfish. Oh, we did get some dogfish too.

My plan is to launch at Hampton Harbor, NH at 6 am to arrive on Jeffrey's Ledge about 8 am. I want to try for haddock.
I caught a tagged haddock. Had to leave by 12:00 noon.
Catching lots of fish but only 3 keeper haddock.
I used a venting tool for the fish I released so they could swim down.

Going out to Jeffrey's to try for haddock.
It was a great day at sea. 4 of us came home with 12 keeper haddock.
I went again on 08/10/15 with two 14 year old boys and a mom. The boys are from a local boy scout troop and they had never been deep sea fishing. They caught lots of fish and had a time of their life. The mom caught the biggest haddock. I didn't fish because I was helping them, they came home with 7 keeper haddock.

I went out to the NE Hump of Old Scantum August 4th. tried doing a drift getting only small Pollock. Other boats were anchored so I went to a small plateau of 180 feet deep to drop anchor. from there it drops off quickly to 300 feet. The fishfinder was showing a constant school of fish near the surface all day. I think it was mackerel. I fished there from 8 am to 2 pm and only caught small cod and Pollock, no keepers.
